§ 4/21/2013
First teach compassion, soil must be fertile, tilled by kindness in order to receive the seed of knowledge. Truth is a chameleon to all that stand before it, thus what we think we prove with our perception. That is why meditation is so important. A still water reflects all things with clarity, depths therefore can be plumbed, safely. Peace is not something to attain, it is always there, beyond cloudy waters...

§ 4/20/2013
It's not so much that marijuana should be legalized, but rather the laws should be marijuanalized.

§ 4/18/2013
It is the precise moment we want to talk most that we should remain silent, after all life is not a me thing it's a we thing... when we talk we are trying to give directions, when we listen we honor anothers choice of direction, and then, in tune, we can find the way together... and two lights shine brighter in darkness than one.

§ 4/17/2013
Some say everything we need to know we learned in kindergarten, so I think, every ten years we should all go back and spend a day in Kindergarten as a refresher...

§ 4/17/2013

It's great to be motivated. It really is. What experiences teaches me is that if we waste our energy TALKING, then we are not WALKING. Its nice to keep quiet, and just mind our own business.

Focus, and feel the Energy inside GROWING.

Talking tricks us into thinking we've already done the walking.

§ 4/17/2013
Questions only bachelors ask:

How long can I keep wet laundry in the washing machine before it becomes compromised and I have to wash it all over again?

§ 4/17/2013
Let me put this in simple terms so even idiots like Obama and George Bush can understand. The rest of the world is not looking to the USA to lead the way. Oh, they may have at one time, but not anymore, no, that ship has sailed. USA is the only country to drop nuclear bombs on another nation, not once but twice. We are one of the few remaining countries not to ban much of Monsanto, but not only do we not ban them, we appoint them to run our FDA and oversee our food supply and then sign a Protection Act for them, that's some real evil shit right there. Another area we are not leading the way, education, healthcare, clean air and water, and energy. Obesity, test scores, we have more empty homes than homeless, we chase after money instead of one another, 1 in 2 men get some form of Cancer in their lifetimes, 1 in 3 women, and the idiots in politics are still arguing over whether women should be able to own their bodies, gays can get married, and if guns should hold 30 bullets... pure idiocy. Most other industrialized nations all require mandatory relief wells prior to drilling for oil, we don't, and that's why that BP oil spill was as bad as it was, it took them months to build those relief wells AFTER the fact, that's like a junkie with AIDS putting on the condom AFTER he comes in the girl. I have lost all interest in politics, because they are a waste of my time. They're not about bettering your life, they're about distracting you with bullshit and making you feel entertained as a slave to money. Fuck 'em, forget 'em, live your life however you passionately define it, imagine it, realize it, life's too short to be a sheep, it's time to wake up, take back our power, and grow tall again. taller than the sky, wider than rational minds, just vast as the fucking stars in the deepest oceans of space, because whether you know it or not, you're already there.
§ 4/14/2013
There was a time when a penny dropped was something you looked for.
There was a time when phones had anchors for our conversational shores.
There was a time when men shaved the way a painter put brush to canvas, every process a representable art.

When aliens come and ask what happened, seeing only shadows living amongst our bones... where convenience ate us quite contentedly out of house and home.

The wind won't whisper of our stories, the sky won't weep our passing
For we kept this place a prisoner, the oceans still puking up our triumphs.

What good is all the gifts we've discovered, to a life that leads to hollow halls as empty as the day before you were born?

Stray cats will whine looking for a face that they once knew
The world will grow large once again, and the zoos will yawn like a prison break
When humans have been swallowed by the fire of heaven, the earth will unclench it's anus, swallow carbon and and fill up her sails, and set sail for eternity.

Mankind has treated the planet like a whore
Took every road and built a door
Charged admission and poisoned everything we need to survive,
the soil, the water, the air, any good thing
Turned every puddle of fresh water into a pus-infected sore

We think of Heaven as something to attain
Hell a place to fear for
But what Hell could possibly be worse than what we do to each other every day?

How can we call land holy, without the heart that calls it thus? Murder everywhere, war, that all generations only know.

What are we doing here? I don't suffer for anything going on in my life. I suffer because my heart is the same heart that beats in this earth, that beats in this universe, that beats in every starving child, and every beaten woman, murdered and forgotten face.

If I could close my eyes, and raise my hands to heaven, and shine a light from my heart like an oxygen that rushes and covers every inch of this planet, reaches out for thousands of miles like a cloak in every direction of pure healing... I would give that of myself, with every breath, an outpouring of safety to everyone, a beacon of love to all who live, human, animal, no differentiation, love speaks all languages, all species, all races, all walks of life, and all existences, depths, weights, distances, all here in the palm of the hand, absolved in the tear of compassion.

There is only one heart, there is only one mind, there is only one I, and it is ours.

§ 4/12/2013
Opulence, luxury, these are the devil's virtues... for all excess is merely a decaying reflection of an illusory nature born out of the ignorance and fear of a tortured mind dwelling in spiritual lack... the self does not dwell in or out, but passes through unscathed by time and it's lessons... in the seat of the soul it waits for us, to temper stillness with silence, and bring peace out of violence.

§ 4/12/2013
You are not the center of the universe, you are the universe.
You are not the most important thing, you are the only thing.
You are the dreamer, and the dreamed.

§ 4/12/2013
Here's a random thought for you: The human body template is asexual, but it's natural inclination leans towards the feminine. To become male, it is imposed upon by genetics, in much the same way declaring God as a "He" begins to make sense, because what is God but a consciousness imposed upon creation as its creator? What this informs us of is the simple differentiation between concept and experience, ideology and reality, dichotomies that only come into being once a singularity has been brought forth, and so ultimately there is no dichotomy, there is no He, there is no She, there is no this or that, there is only Mind.
§ 4/11/2013
Laying here in bed, feeling the weight of Luna sleeping, and Neptune also laying close by, both full and drowsy with after breakfast digestion, I'm reminded of every cat I've ever adopted, in every place I called a home, and every feeling associated with them, and twinkling memories swirling in the mist, like a heaven full of stars, and I close my eyes, these precious memories are the only possessions worth owning, and in this moment in need of these who depend on me, it's not the musician, it's not the poet, but the dreamer who lays here, with the ocean waves of feeling rolling over me, underwater, buoyant, and remembering, and wishing it would never go away.

§ 4/10/2013
So I've been looking for this little EP I own by Les Baxter called "Invitation", and long story short, I couldn't find it because in my mind I was thinking of it as a larger size record binder, so I thought to myself, what if I think about it being smaller? And then sure enough, I found it... just by tweaking that thought, I felt so proud of myself, I'd never displayed such mastery over my thoughts before... and I owe it all to this little stick I found in the front yard this afternoon... I swear it gave me super powers <3

§ 4/10/2013
God is a mirror in the sky.

§ 4/10/2013
In the beginning there was man, and for thousands of years we fought, we created societies, but they didn't work, we created systems, they failed, we created convenience, we created disease... so we created God, to recreate man, but it too failed, for eventually all fictions must be seen through in the light of truth... so we must ask ourselves, will we continue to create new mythologies in order to recreate man, the way the Christians did with Jesus, the Egyptians with Horus before them? Or will we find a new path? A pathless path of love, of light and nobility?

§ 4/10/2013
Pet peeves are like potato chips... you can never have just one. As soon as you have one, for example, people liking their own posts, ya, we know you like it, you posted it! It quickly becomes two... don't laugh at your own posts, or people sending you random videos and links... and before you know it, the two find a room, have a good time, and you've got a litter of 1000 pet peeves... simple birth control for pet peeves? Take two fuckitols and call me in the morning.

10 Easy Steps Monsanto Can Destroy The World

1. Spread cancer causing chemicals in the form of pesticides
2. Create chemicals to kill weeds and plants to be chemical resistant
3. Create terminator seeds so that plants only live a single season
4. Strong arms small farmers to gain monopoly of food trade and make organic local food harder to access
5. Inject cows and other livestock with hormones and antibiotics
6. Create huge oil subsidies to make your products cheap and healthy choices out of reach of the public.
7. Get first lady to start a garden and a get fit program with media propaganda
8. Get president to appoint you to oversee our entire food supply in the FDA
9. Disregard how nearly all industrialized nations ban most your products as a health hazard and requiring oil relief wells prior to drilling while spending billions of dollars to avoid labeling your products (Except USA)
10. Get president to sign the Monsanto Protection Act

Thanks Monsanto, the devil is looking for a job because you just put him out of business.

§ 4/10/2013
Overcoming fear isn't about pushing things away, it's about letting them in.

I released my first album "I Fall Awake" last year, and if you listen closely you can hear my cats meowing somewhere on most of the tracks in the background.

My new album is in the works, "Our Waking Life", a followup. I'm working to make a more balanced, seamless professional quality finished album.

I'm going to do this right, I really need your help which is why I chose to make an Indie Go Go campaign,
where you can get in on the ground floor with a donation, I made the perks really fun, and I hope you
check it out.

50% of all profits goes to helping real people pay for Cancer Treatment bills.
Consultations alone get up to $25,000
So let's make some music, and help out some people!

Here is the first rough cut single from the album,

Working on my second album, "Our Waking Life"

§ 4/9/2013

My plan to save this nation.

Take abandoned homes and schools, hire social workers, teachers, gardeners, etc... and turn them into housing for the homeless. Revive the yards into community gardens and kitchens, farmer's markets to pay for some bills along with federal assistance, etc...

All this is doable, we just need to take some money from the bloated oil subsidies, junk food chemical subsidies, corporate protections, loopholes, corruption money, and defense budget, and it would not even cost much and it would create jobs.

Keep schools open, keep healthcare going, and get money out of politics, and corporations out by doing away with lobbyists. Get rid of the electoral college.

I could go on but I will leave it there for now...

§ 4/8/2013
When we're young, we often take for granted those looking out for us. When we get older, we forget to continue to look after each other, as if we've become adults, and so somehow we're just perfectly capable, and thus so many are left, neglected, forgotten, abandoned. The homeless, the veteran, the friend, the family, the pet... never stop looking after one another, that is all I ask of you.

§ 4/8/2013
When I eat asparagus, I feel like a monster gobbling up forests, one yummy tree at a time.

§ 4/8/2013
You know why everyone fucks up on Hell's Kitchen? It's simply because humans were meant to live with animals in peace and harmony and not treat them like holocaust prisoners of genocide and murder and then eat them like soulless barbarians... you know, just a thought

§ 4/8/2013
Rule of thumb:

If you can't spray it safely, directly into your mouth, you shouldn't be spraying it into the air.

§ 4/8/2013

Lets talk about facial hair...

Seriously... follow me a moment...

In Judaism, the religion I was born into, they say not to shave the SIDES of your beard. Personally, I don't know why, but thinking logically to myself, it doesn't make much sense, unless you think of it as a way to keep your face warm, but being we all live in heated domiciles, I think we can safely shave the sides of our faces now...

In fact, if you're going to not shave a certain portion of your face for logical reasons, I'd say don't shave your mustache or around your mouth, because that will behave as a natural filter against all the crap in the air, and really, after the industrial revolution, and Monsanto, and all the other crap being pumped into the air these days, and the insane cancer pandemic where 50% of all people are getting some form of Cancer in their life, maybe the natural filter should be maintained, right? (Among other things).

You have to be very careful when you seek to impose a specific behavior to all people, such things should be limited to hurting others... religious behaviors of segregation that encroach on personal expression should be a thing of the past, they are a symbol of Dark Ages.

§ 4/8/2013
It doesn't matter if you think you know better... first appreciate the methods of others which work, appreciate those, then the door is opened for you to paint together... when you just criticize, it's like throwing paint onto somebody else's canvas.

§ 4/8/2013
Depth is not defined by how deep you can dig yourself into bullshit, but how far you can dig yourself out.

§ 4/8/2013
I've never understood the words awesome and awful. In my mind, awesome refers to a moment that upholds some awe, while awful refers to one that is full of awe, and yet awful is bad. Shouldn't awesome be okay, and awful be even better?

§ 4/6/2013
If all you say is a quote, a rephrase of something tried and true, you're not really taking a risk, or taking a chance on yourself are you? When you speak your own heart, and use your own words, sure you may offend some people, sure you'll make enemies, but it's far better to speak your truth and offend someone, then to play it safe, afraid to draw outside the lines, on a leash in life, tasting only regret for not having let anyone know your heart.

§ 4/6/2013

When someone you truly care about dies, a part of you may wonder, where are they now? Are they somewhere else? Can we ever truly know for sure? A part of you reaches out to find them, searching in the ineffible and amorphous light, always searching for a sign, that bread crumb trail to the other side, and if there is one at all... perhaps our reason cannot go there, but there are roads our hearts do travel, we feel our way, no sign posts, no gravel, no roads to pave or demarcation lines to show the way, and yet, our hearts do wander there from time and time again, open, expansive, and searching, spot lights of love, on heart roads.

For Richard Dimond

§ 4/5/2013

You finalize the future with the things
You do.

Does it seem weird that Easter is a holiday where kids go hunting for chocolate, and yet, all the stores that sell chocolate are closed. What kind of a cruel, sick joke is that?

~*~

Putting an animal down because they're suffering is one thing. Putting them down just because they're taking up space is an entirely different thing. Did you read the part about them putting down most animals within 24 hours of receiving them? That's not TRYING to find them homes even a little. So sad

What gets me is that I have never heard of PETA having a place open to the public for adoptions, or anywhere on its website offering animals for adoption... Hmm... Not really sure what to think but this bit makes me wonder.

~*~

We all have triggers for negative behaviors we want to stop, whether it's smoking, whatever, so the important thing in quitting is not just quitting, but in recognizing the triggers, realizing they're bullshit, and thus, killing one trigger after another, until you are completely free, you have "cut ties with all the lies that you've been living in."

~*~

The difference between death and wellness

I sautée onions in 1 tablespoon of butter
You sautée onions in 1 cup of butter

I drink fresh vegetable juice
You drink pop and beer

When I worry I meditate
When you worry you get angry over the little things

The answers are simple.
You are a moist sponge.
Salt and sugar are the enemy of sponges
Poor lil sponges...

1 out of 2 men will get some form of cancer in their lifetimes
1 out of 3 women will get some form of cancer in their lifetimes

The answer is simple.
Change what you put in and on your body, your air, your environment
You, your loved ones, your pets, will live longer, happier lives.

If ever you are feeling like you're alone. That no one cares, or that no one's really listening on the other end of the phone. Do a Google search the question, why do I feel so alone in this world? With friends surrounding, always reaching out to family? Why do they turn somewhere else when I turn their way? You'll find you're not alone, and there is solace in shared emotion. Depression creeps into an empty space, like a twirling sharp mirror, so that when you look at it, it's all you see. The void that is so small, become your everything. The discovery of reflected shared feeling, will stop the mirror reeling, and show you that you're really not alone at all, you've just been standing in a hole, looking down at the ground, wondering why you can't see the sun.

The followup album to "I Fall Awake" is in the works, most of the songs are finished, I just need to polish, figure out which songs go on, and what order, etc...

The second album is called "Our Waking Life"

The perfect followup album I think.

If you would like to submit a piece of artwork for the album, cover and back with song title design, and/or CD artwork... email all artwork to: Kittysafe@Gmail.com

This is a paid gig. $50 for CD art if chosen, and $200 for cover/back if chosen
Also, 2 free signed copies of the album for you and a friend.

For the CD design, consider upgrading the cat with guitar motif somehow while maintaining the theme.

Finished my first song in a few weeks, and I hope you love it as much as I do, I also hope the recording came out, I think I fixed my sound issue...

So here it is, enjoy!

Our Waking Life

D Ami C G

You catch a glimpse of me, through the windows of a song
I used to run so free, down the mountainside
My heart a flowing stream
My mind amidst the sea
Diamonds in her side
You can always find me there

We'll talk about what we did before
And how things used to be
If we could do it all again
Our Waking Life not just tomorrow's dreams

You can have the heart of me
and the love I bring
A muse reflection of eternity
In the heart beat breath I sing

You can't take the sorrow outside your soul
Or leave the wonder at the door
And if I take my life in my hands
You won't wonder any more
You'll catch a glimpse of me...

Love is like a shovel with a flashlight attachment, and the more you open up the deeper it digs, so anything hiding deep down inside will come to the surface, so it's important to give relationships time to develop, so those things can come up to the surface slowly, and the two lovers can communicate and heal each other through these issues towards real strength and a real future together.

I've always believed in personal responsibility and choosing one's own path, so this weekend when I was explained to that I was born into a Jewish family for a reason, it was impossible to argue with that logic. Of course, what it means to live as a Jew is something that is very subjective... especially the way Rabbis seem to change rules on a whim and seriously, some of these rules are downright ludicrous, I mean I can use logic to create any number, a myriad of rules to encompass all kinds of strange rituals and behaviors... that doesn't mean one should do them, minutae-induced detail-oriented and surgical precision societally reasoned behavior is not my idea of living for the Lord but rather a waste of energy... think big people, don't get lost in the forests of extremely picky behavior modifications. Do what you feel is right... inculcation, indoctrination, these are not the way for me, they are a strait-jacket on a butterfly, be the sky, embrace the open eye, the open heart... and fly.

De ja vu... the moment we go down the same road again, with a new opportunity to change the road we're on... will we make the same choice, will we recognize the chance, or will we raise our vibration, make a signal to the Gods, that we are switching gears and with resolve, focused will, transcend to a new paradigm?

Watched the movie "Contagion"... or How to be a vegetarian and care for the animals instead of murdering them for our appetites. I really do think this is the last year I eat meat. My appetites are not stronger than my heartbreak anymore.

~*~

When we say "Most people..." we are saying this to build ourselves up, as if we are privvy to some secret knowledge, like we've figured something out... but how can we say "most people" about anything? Where are we getting our information? It's perception... when society encourages what we believe goes against common sense, we feel "most people" just don't get it... perhaps we should stopusing the phrase "most people" from now on... and just talk about ourselves.

Cigarettes have a very short shelf life of being "cool", and that is when you're too young to legally buy them... I remember being 16 and I thought my pack of smokes was like a Pulp Fiction glowing briefcase of autonomy and independence, it was my little island oasis, and no one could take it away... how times have changed...

~*~

I believe abortion is immoral, I just don't believe it's always wrong to be immoral.

Here's an idea... get rid of marriage altogether. Stop declaring a rock more valuable than another, all this tradition that hurts the earth, hurts people, it's silliness, chaos inducing silliness... and that's just not the right kind of silliness we as a whole people should be encouraging.

Seriously, they talk about what kinds of marriage is unconstitutional? I think all kinds of marriage are unconstitutional. A family unit that loves each other have love to keep them together, how is marriage going to do a better job than love?

Clearly, people get married for many good reasons too though, to make a statement, a declaration in front of society, which leads to 1000+ financial benefits.

Society the way we know it SHOULD cease to exist in many respects... the industrial revolution that has led to super corporations, super greed, and super environmental and human disaster... chasing money instead of one another... we're going to hell in a bucket, and it's not enough to simply enjoy the ride. There's too much at risk, the whole planet is suffering from our "progress".

For how progressive and FREE we think we are as a nation... we're far less FREE than cultures that existed long long ago, like say The Vikings, who had a real egalitarian society, where women had the exact same rights as men... how can we call ourselves free and the greatest nation when we're not even living up to the standards of a people who lived 2000 years ago?

~*~

I talked the other day about laugh tracks, but the problem with live audiences is that they laugh soooo hard that even if what was said was funny, my spontaneous laugh muscle cringes and my mind thinks, "Okay it was funny, but it wasn't THAT funny," and that's because the audiences are told when to laugh, when to stop laughing, and how to laugh... and that's effectively turning audiences into a.i. and how is that really any different from a laugh track?

~*~

There's something really nefarious about TV show laugh tracks. Now think of real laughter, it's spontaneous, it's got variable tones and qualities... but the laugh track is the same every time, it's kind of droning, and it programs the viewer to respond to shit in an unnatural way. In fact, when you really listen to a laugh track closely, it doesn't even sound like laughter at all, it sounds like machine gun fire. It's like an assault on your soul. It's really evil and needs to be stopped.

I was wondering what happened to all the cults in America that were so prevalent in the '70s and then in the '90s, because if they come and go in 20 year burst cycles, they should be huge right now... and then I thought, the reason we don't see them is because those cults are right in front of us in the form of the Democratic and Republican parties and the Media like CNN, Fox, and MSNBC, and their bunkers aren't gone they've simply burrowed into the media infrastructure directly... and I imagine the Senators, the Lobbyists, whose brains have been replaced with TVs, send their kids to special training camps, where all they get to watch are back to back episodes of Texas, Walker Ranger and those news sources, one of three, based on their wiring... but whichever they choose, the fertile soil of their minds are being specially prepared, groomed for these political positions, and any sense of the true vastness of this world are sucked out of them by alien vacuums and genetic hackers turning off their neocortexes systematically... LONG LIVE THE NEW FLESH.

The best investment of your life... and most people aren't getting a week's worth of nutrients that I'm getting in one glass of freshly made vegetable juice. SUPERCHARGE YOUR BODY!

And what's up with sandwiches coming with lettuce like Romaine or iceberg if Kale is so much better for you, so easy to grow and so much higher in protein and nutrients? Is our society against us? I think it is. That's why the president appoints Monsanto, that's why fast food and Starbucks are on every corner, that's why regulations are piss poor, that's why all advertising dollars and lobbyists are shit you can't trust, that's why wars are booming and schools are closing... pay attention people, shit's gettin' real, marketing is a lie, you've been trained to love the scream and ignore the whisper, indoctrination is all the rage, religion and military, it's the fuckin' Matrix and we're all plugged in to a deep sheep sleep.

Angels and Demons, Ghosts, Devils and Gods are all fabrications from the subconscious and lack of personal responsibility and spiritual understanding in the mind of man. The more mankind takes responsibility for how we see things and respond to the world, the better off we'll be, instead of thinking we ourselves are faultless and all negativity is outside ourselves in the forms of ghosts and demons, Gods and Devils, let us take responsibility for all things, as reflections of our core, then nothing is beyond our ability to heal, nor problem beyond our capability to creatively solve.

Kevin Costner didn't just play JFK, he is JFK. Costner came into Hollywood, the way Kennedy came into the Presidency... The darling everyone thought they could control. A man who turned out to have his own vision, and was assassinated for it. But while they took Kennedy's life because he threatened the power of the Federal Reserve and the corruptions of the past, similarly Costners career was assassinated with prejudgment by the media and Hollywood elite for threatening how they did things, and like Kennedy, he never recovered. The parallel is one I find intriguing.

When consciousness from a singularity, some refer to as God, exploded into unique and self aware pieces in order to participate in the expansion of love in a common reality.

The parody of politics in America is that the Democrats hate the Republicans for all the wrong reasons, and the Republicans hate the Democrats for all the wrong reasons... and this tug of war, this over-dramatization that slowly corrodes our country, informs me that politics is the tail wagging the dog, a huge distraction to the truth. It is all around us. Even now, in this very room. You can see it when you look out your window or when you turn on your television. You can feel it when you go to work... when you go to church... when you pay your taxes. It is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth. That you are a slave. Like everyone else you were born into bondage. Born into a prison that you cannot smell or taste or touch. A prison for your mind.

Remember when Obama said he was running for president to give the people a voice that was being drowned out by big money interests? Ya, that was a lie. How is it a lie? Well, he sells access, he bails out companies not people, he feeds into too big to fail, he sells influence, Obama's not a poet, he's inculcation. Obama's not Mainstreet, he's Wallstreet. Obama is not the droids you're looking for... he's deported more people in history, he was given a Nobel Peace Prize then went a head and drone bombed the middle east countries for years to come... his wife is big into health right? While he appoints Monsanto to oversee our food supply... who is Barack Obama? If all you know of him are his words, look at his actions. Every great thing Obama has championed was a bandwagon he jumped on only after it was the safe thing to do with the people. Every time. Obama wants to speak against tyranny, but act on its behalf.

~*~

When asked about drone strikes, the President's White House Press Secretary said he cannot answer that, ask the Pentagon, and when the Pentagon's Press Secretary was asked, he said ask someone else, meaning the CIA, who... umm... don't do press conferences, and this is what is considered transparency in 2013... the President is lying when he talks of transparency, it's a buzz word to get elected, to get undeserved trust by the American people, the people the powers that be treat like uninformed sheep, idiots... we are the mollified masses... and the only reason they don't just kill us all is because they want our money to pay for their wars, their whores, their addictions and their disposable heroes... I say if they don't pay tax, neither should we, and if they don't care about us, it's time we turn our backs on them and start living a little differently... without them.

~*~

Einstein accepted it is theoretically possible to travel forward in time as an observer, something by the way I have done in moments of meditation. And the convenience is, it answers the question, why don't we see time travelers today if our future ancestors learn how to do it sometime in the future? But if our future ancestors do in fact figure out time travel in a physical construct beyond the intangible meditator, and strictly as an observer, what good could it do us? I suppose that depends on the details observed...

I heard a pounding beat, consistent, driving, forceful, like a pulse, a native tribes people keep rhythm with the rivers and stream, the stars aligning in their shadow... but it was just the blood in my veins, echoing in the chamber, the cathedral of mind... I close my eyes, I let go, I bless this life in all its dramas, illusions, but also, potentialities... as long as I live, these potentialities are my clay, and I am the artist.

Hiroshima and Nagasaki were bigger acts of terrorism than 9/11. More lives were lost. It's time to stop calling ourselves the greatest nation on Earth. We have the highest levels of obesity, our government cares more about greed and power and oil and politics than health and education or clean environment. We're going bankrupt, we have more empty homes than homeless... face it America, we're no better in fact in many ways we're much worse. After all, are we better than CHINA because we have an EPA and OSHA? Or worse because our regulations are so corrupt it would be better not to have them at all? The proof is in the pudding, and right now, we need to get back into the kitchen.

It seems to me the best, most responsible way to deal with our debt is to cut back on defense budget, oil subsidies, the rich are doing fine, they don't need the help, the tax cuts, the loopholes, and we don't need new tanks, new wars, and the president doesn't need a $400,000 salary when everything he needs is paid for... we need to be smarter and more wise as a nation. Shouldn't the rich and the corporate overlords take the sacrifice and not the poor? You cannot rest the weight of society on the weak, the meek and the downtrodden, it doesn't make sense no matter how you look at it, and doing so inevitably leads only to war of a different kind, revolution.

I have this idea for an egg over easy... what you do is start making an egg, dillute white truffle salt with heavy cream, then cover the yolk with very finely shreddings of cheese, which will keep the yolk intact to syringe inside a puree of chorizo, tomato, onion, and bell pepper... then drip the cream salt over the egg white to give it a shine. I really want to try something like this... I just invented it, what do you think?

50 Years Since “The Feminine Mystique,” Has Anything Changed?

February 17 marks the 50th anniversary of the publication of “The Feminine Mystique.” Since 1963, millions of people have read this groundbreaking book.

As Gail Collins points out in The New York Times, it was a book that was able to “seize the moment – to perfectly encapsulate the problem of an era before other people even notice the problem exists.”

It doesn't matter if it's true or not (though it is), but if you treat everyone as if we are all connected, that we are all One, then everything you do will be with a compassionate empathy and awareness towards all things, and don't you always feel best when you known you've effected positive support for someone else? Bought the guitar this week I will be using on the new album, I am in awe at this guitar. You see, I gave my first real guitar I bought in the late '80s to a friend of mine for his 50th birthday. I had put it on layaway for 6 months before I could pick it up, it was a real nice top of the line Martin at the time. Anyway, afterward, I never bought nice guitars because I was moving around so much I didn't want anything to happen to them, so I went with $100, ¾ size guitars, they were fun, no worry, easy to play walking down the street or take to parks... those were good times... where was I? Oh yes, this really is my first real special guitar purchase since then, so in like 20 years. I can't wait for you to hear my songs on this guitar, and I look forward to creating this new album and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Have a beautiful weekend,

The problem with us humans might be our certainty. We're so sure that people should want to hear the things we talk about, so sure it matters, so sure people are listening. It's pure arrogance to believe in the billions of years our world has existed, that the blink of an eye defined by our lifetime should prove to be that important, and maybe it is, but perhaps what we need most is listening to ourselves, looking with inward more instead of always looking outside ourselves for validation. Perhaps the universe we don't know so well, is the one within, or perhaps there is no inside, no outside, and all things are simply One, but it's our insistence on these dichotomies that cause us to behave thus... shouting at some illusory world "outside", "separate", ever searching for that which has already found us.

~*~

If you're indoctrinated, you are afraid of Hell.
If you're brainwashed, you are afraid of using the word Hell, that you say Heck.
If you want to be truly free, you must not do things with the promise of Heaven or the fear of Hell. You must do things because you understand that everything you prepare for others is the meal you already digested. Karma is instant, there is no start, there is no end, it's all here now, and nothing to defend. Call things what you want, ideas, conceptions, ultimately they are fingers pointing to the moon, you are the only direction.

Perhaps the silliest thing about man is our undeniable ignorance, and yet unwavering insistence on our belief systems. But if we be fallible, must not our beliefs as well be made of blind spots? There is no such thing as a perfect circle, and there is nothing more certain than the absence of such. This is what is meant by the phrase, if you meet the Buddha on the road, kill him.

Downton Abbey is the story of how self important and entitled upper class bigots fall in love with the help and act as if it's worse than Hitler while everyone is doing it, all to the sweeping and majectic, idyllic and somber soundtrack, where the mic volume for footsteps and doors closing is louder than voices, and where every expression betrays a pettiness so vast as to be practically comical. Terrific acting, sets and storylines though, somehow it all works. I think that about sums it up.

It's a great show, but it does seem the majority of the audience is female, I wonder why that is, perhaps the period, the idea of love transcending class, but also the class itself, Gone with the Wind propriety and rebellion... I can see the appeal.

Don't they all?   My mom is always going on about Pride and Prejudice and the like. The language is romantic and the women struggle with finding independence and equality... I'd say in the 21st century, that is not a problem any longer. Perhaps they act like it's still an issue, because deep down they want something to fight for.

~*~

We have very different views on health. If I cough you say, "You're coming down with something," and when I cough I say, "Time to kick something out!"

A little deep breathing, light stretching, tea with ginger, garlic, lemon and honey, and I'll be just fine. I also find singing really helps get rid of a throat cold, it's like a loving massage for the larynx, so today I'm singing "Princes of the Clouds" by James Keelagan.

~*~

The problem with America is in our aspirations and identifications. America can be defined as hotdogs, apple pie, and a cold soda... and we wonder why obesity is our shining achievement... I think we need to redefine what it means to be American... Experimentation in music, in science, in all culture... and acceptance of all... that's the hidden gem in our American history, and we should be waving that flag a little prouder.

~*~

How many of us can say we sacrificed ourselves for something greater than our own desires?

I spent some years growing up on the street and had the blessed fortune of meeting a few Vietnam vets, and though I never asked them about the war, they often shared little things in their stories and behavior... So many came back from Vietnam, specially young black men, crippled emotionally, and never received the help they needed.. Some turned inward, watching war movies as a sort of personal catharsis, others were homeless, shuffling through life, living in libraries, coffee houses, talking to themselves, smiling at the world... War is a tragedy that twists men's minds and souls, we do not do enough for our veterans, not by a long shot.

Just something to think about.

~*~

Cats and Kids, exactly the same... kid wants the toy because he thinks it's better because someone else has it... cats are the same way with food. Exactly the same. Now, Euclid said that anything that is equal to something else, are equal to each other, this means you should treat your cats the same way you treat your kids, or in more realistic terms... you should treat your kids the same way you treat your cats.

~*~

In life, there is a very fine line between fantasy and reality. Either a rationalist or a believer, an explanation can always be found... and then there is the mystic, who does not seek an explanation, but simply embarks on the continuation of the exploration, the transfiguration of man, or as Nietzsche called, the eternal repetition, that we come again in the same image, I would say the image ever changes, but the soul remains the same.

Melissa Harris-Perry is apparently outraged that Kathryn Bigelow who directed Zero Dark 30 didn't get nominated for best Director, even though she won it last year. But ZD30 was nominated for best picture so I think this conversation is silly...

I think a better question is why was Cloud Atlas completely overlooked by the Oscars, when it was easily deserving of nominations in Art Direction, Costume Design, Makeup, Visual Effects, Supporting Actress for Doona Bae, and Best Picture...

and they raise the good point that these movies that get neglected don't get the money to be green lit to make more movies like them, but I don't think this applies to their conversation about women making movies, since that's completely been destroyed in the film industry, Hurt Locker, Blind Side, Precious proves that...

they should be talking about movies like Cloud Atlas, movies that demand people question religion, responsibility towards one another, humanity as a whole and the expanse of our history...

Now, while the Oscars are a complete waste of time, failure to be recognised is as good an indication as any of a films lasting worth, a movie recognized has more chance of other movies like it being made which helps shape the future of a cultural direction and can effect people for generations to come.

~*~

Here's a phenomenon I'd like to discuss, because I tried to with one person who got upset about my thoughts on the matter...

Now, we all love our animal friends, I assume if you are on my friends list this is the case anyway... but it's just my opinion from what I see in the world, how people treat animals and babies as though they are somehow privy to some kind of wisdom that takes humans a lifetime to attain, that we have become a little silly as a species... as in, exchanged silliness for reason, and not simply a balance of the two.

I believe the cute notion that animals and babies know what's up ironically is a bit of projecting, no? All things are teachers to those willing to learn, but animals and babies don't intentionally teach, thus I argue they don't know what's up. We seek simplicity, simplicity that we see in them... so are they doing anything than being? Must they do more than that? Ergo, I would not conclude they are clued in but rather we become clued in because of them... as reflections of the simplicity we seek within.

~*~

What is an ocean but a multitude of drops? I have often described my own experience of each physicality of consciousness to be a drop in an ocean, perhaps because of a profound experience I had while meditating at the beach, where I experienced the ocean, where most of us simply experience the separateness of life as the drops in our day to day... but once you do experience the full, magnitude and beauty of the ocean, the drops take on new meaning do they not? The drops become oceans unto themselves, together we can do so much... we can shape this world much the way the oceans do, but with purpose, with intention, and with hope.

~*~

Re-teaching Humanity for Responsible Living

The problem with humanity is this false notion that violent acts born of anger can be justified as a deterrent to bad behavior. This is wrong thinking. Violence begets violence. Violence teaches fear. The only way to have any hope of unlearning bad habits is to encourage good ones, and first a way must be made clear for them, through compassion, patience, and assurance. Assurance that one is not condemned for their bad behavior, that there is a way forward. Too often we teach separation, throw the baby out with the bath water... the first step is recognizing perceived need, perceived fear, and teaching assurance and love as a counter-balance.

~*~

There is a saying from The Bible, Corinthians I believe, that goes, "When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me." I challenge this notion here and now in articulation that always eluded me but not without the smell of it, for years... I believe as a child I chose the best of things availed to me, for myself, but as an adult I choose the best to give away unto others, for I believe giving is the best gift of all. That is what maturity has taught me... I will always enjoy simple, silly, childish ways... and hope we all keep them near and dear to our hearts, for it is the child like mind that saves us from suffering, and not the exchange of innocence for security.

~*~

If I were alive in 1863, and Facebook existed... I would be talking about how all people should be able to vote. In 2013, the truths we speak out for are just as important, they simply are different, but we do so with no less fervor than one who might fight against any atrocity history has shown us to be a shackle upon the spirit of man.

~*~

I like to joke that I would find it far easier to make huge sweeping life changes if God or an Angel came down and said to me, "Jonathan, if you become vegan, you will gain super powers, be able to fly to the stars without holding your breath or wearing a coat, and live as long as you prefer... traveling to the heights of any dream, meditation, or hope, to change the world, to save humanity, to bring peace between the species, this and more, is open to you..." Then ya, I'd go vegan today.

I am American, but I am a human formost, so I seek objectivity and humanity. That being said, America has never held themselves to the same rules, policies, laws, ethics, edicts, tenets, you name it that they demand from other nations.

We defy the Geneva convention, the law states anyone breaking the law in a foreign nation shall be allowed representation by their homeland, we refuse this all the time but expect it from others, and go to war, kill leaders, destroy economies when we don't get our way.

We are a greedy nation who topple those who wish to give free education and share oil profits with their citizens...

It is a society that is doomed which chases after money and not one another in pursuit of well-being.

That is why there are more empty homes than homeless.

I don't think people are careful enough about their hygiene, for example, if you live with other people its kind of gross to all be using the same toilet. You're placing your butt on the same spot that they put theirs, and if you're related I think that's incest. Now, do you clean the toilet seat off with antibacterial cleaning sprays before and after every time you use the toilet? I don't think you do. I think the toilet seat should be removable like clip on, and everyone in the house should own their own toilet seat, it's be great, think about it, your toilet seat could be any color you like, style, material, with USB ports and wifi, and be able to check email... Think of the possibilities of the new iSeat. You heard it here first.

I have to say, I'm very surprised. Out of all the times, the myriad, endless amount of times I've kicked my toes into things, dumbbells, cabinets, dressers, you name it, it's a miracle, it's practically divine intervention that I've never broken a toe. In fact, I think this might be proof that God doesn't exist. You see, I've been shitty all my life, I've done so many bad things, selfish things, hurtful, terrible things, that if God did exist, I'd have been lightning smoted by now. But instead I'm living the life of my dreams, with cats aplenty, and creative joys beyond any measure. Or maybe it means God does exist, he just has other plans for my toes...

In ancient Roman times it was customary for the son to murder the father to claim the throne... why? A show of strength that keeps power within the family blood line. In that same way, what I do is once my new kitten is old enough, I cook the old cat and feed it to the kitten so it takes the wisdom and power of the old cat, and becomes ready to take the throne as cat king of the castle.

Wouldn't that be amazing if I was serious?

Did you know there's an epidemic of low sperm count among men over the last 50 years? The solution? Simply a change in diet and lifestyle... common sense right? But, people don't tend to make such changes to their lifestyle without real incentive, does low sperm count work for you?

What do you need to change in your lifestyle?

What you should be eating: nuts, seeds like chia and flax, fish, dairy, fruits, vegetables, omega 3s, and plenty of water

Avoid: salt, sugar, caffeine

Common sense stuff.

United States of America's Global Policy:

Preach Democracy
Practice Autocracy
Promote the overthrow of independent states and install brutal patsy

We must wake up as a people, take the infusions of the junk food we're being fed intravenously through all our senses by our lifestyles, our diets, and our media.
Once awake to question, we become solutions.

Sitting here, drinking a cup of Yogi Teas, Green Tea Kombucha Decaf, feeling a paradigm shift these last few days, and believe me I predicted its coming, the thinker thinks, the prover proves... life is a big ball of what you make it... but on some level, I think others will feel it too... the world didn't end, it never does, and likely won't until the microcosmic end we call Death comes for us, drapes o'er us...

So in my time, sow in my thyme, I will make the best of what I've been given, having a chance to live a life worth living.

So, for the first time in my life I actually bought a decent pair of jeans, I swear every pair I've ever owned prior came from thrift stores, I never quite understood the point to buying them any other way, they almost seemed MADE to be bought used, broken in and cheap... but anyway, I bought a new pair of jeans, and I have to say... they're really the most comfortable pair of jeans I've ever owned, I had no idea they could feel this good. I want to be in a commercial dancing with a walk-man surrounded by girls with hoses watering nearby hedges. and dogs smiling up at me by fire hydrants peeing... suddenly, it's a beautiful day!

(Up to 12/26/2012)

I feel different... I feel as though the world took a collective sigh of subconscious relief, 2013 will be the year a big weight, born of ignorance, but weight all the same will be gone from the stupid people of the world, and that will be felt on a larger scale. I believe 2013 will be a creative and empowered year.

Have you ever noticed that to us humans, every atrocity is possible, we concede that point, many live in constant fear of it... and yet, we so seldom believe the miracles, the anything beautiful and amazing can happen... the psychic healing, the out of body energy body dream sharing, remote viewing and more...

Perhaps the energy we put into being afraid of what could be possible, should be reallocated into the being amazed at what could be possible.

~*~

‎2013 is going to be the turnaround year for humanity... and I can tell you why... yes, we'll come up with the next big apocalypse, but I think a lot of the world is going to wake up and a lot of stress is going to vanish from our collective shoulders when we realize, this 2012 end of the world thing was a representation of a massive fear reality we have outgrown... and we'll seek to achieve, learning from this fear that held us back as a nation... and we'll do great things... count my words... 2013 is the come back year for humanity.

~*~

It's one thing to know there's a difference between blood family and your spiritual family, your kindred family, the ones you truly connect with, the ones who don't just get you, but want to get you... but when you find out it's your own parents who don't see you as part of their "real" family, I think that's when parents go from being good people to self-seeking strangers. It is a tragedy that some parents simply lack the capacity to love their own children. But what did we expect? They're flawed human beings like everybody else. But you usually think, a parent loves their child unconditionally, but some just don't have it in them, the will perhaps to develop that capacity.

~*~

If all was not allowed, then man would have no capacity for greatness... greatness comes with the ability to choose from love and greed, selfishness and fear... one might say God gave us the choice, what we call freewill, what others might see not as God given, but an evolutionary necessity for survival... however it came about, it gives us the capacity for great love and great suffering... you cannot have one without the other... the problem isn't in our Gods, but in our choices.

I think it's funny that RUSH was never inducted into the Rock 'N Roll Hall of Fame until long after their music turned to shit... they deserved to be inducted for everything they put out from 1975-1989, without a doubt.

~*~

With disagreements, more often than not I find it's simply a matter of one person looking at the forest while the other looks at the trees... both are valid, we're just not on the same page. There is no fault, no one is wrong, we're at different vantage points...

~*~

One can be silly without being unclear. One can be serious without being too high strung... I do believe puns are often overly used as a way to keep people at a distance rather than to bring out the reality of our closeness.

This morning I thought about the choices we make as people... so often we choose to perceive things as obstacles instead of surprise meetings in our lives, problems instead of challenges... we need to believe in ourselves a little more, be patient and kind with ourselves, so we embrace these meetings, we feel up to the challenge.

I know a man who walks down the stairs each morning, yelling at his dogs to get out of his way...

Another man walks down the stairs and takes the dogs in his loving arms, happy they share the same path.

But how? Think about what you love to do, what makes you feel alive?
Now, don't think about all the reasons not do it... just designate a time, 30 minutes a day at least a week, and set up a space... and just do it. If you set up the space, it's easier to imagine yourself in it, and then you will naturally find yourself there, doing it.

I'm talking about a specific activity you may find yourself procrastinating doing, painting, music, crafts... some artistic expression you love but aren't doing... these are techniques I've learned really motivate me to get started. Creating the space is important.

(Up to 12/14/2012)

There's an unspeakable cliff we're heading towards, and I don't mean the fiscal one... the world is clearly becoming over populated... if we are moved to tears at every death, and our prayers would answer and no one died, overpopulation would be here sooner and what then would we do? We seem to be between a rock and a hard place... if everyone died of "natural causes" we would still rocket towards that cliff... so what do we do?

I think the answer is for all humanity to become one family. If we are all here for each other, imagine the support we could give one another, imagine what we could accomplish?

~*~

If someone dying puts a damper on your day, you should be unable to move, tortured every day, for tragedy occurs every day, every minute of every day, every second somewhere in this world... stop keeping people in your mind after the fact, after they're already gone! Put the living in your hearts now, and maybe, just maybe we can prevent these tragedies from occurring with such rampant, stampeding consistency. Death is a metronome that never ends...

~*~

If you want to see Cronenberg's VIDEODROME, don't bother, just look around... you're living it.

You know how you know you're a cat person more than a dog person? When you get mad at the dog for eating the cat's food, but think it's cute when the cat eat's the dog's food.

Well, it's fairly obvious to me, and I state this with a completely open heart and clear conscience, that while some of the Bible may be inspired by something divine... it's mostly a book of controlling the masses, setting policy, and definitely not authored by "God", and the sooner people figure this out, and stop molding themselves to an archaic and outdated worldview and start trusting their own hearts and doing what's right, the sooner we'll climb out of this darkness within which we find ourselves today.

This is a journal entry I wrote on my website back in 2007...

January 16, 2007 11:35 PM

Too often what the crazy, freak, scorned and mocked suggest today
are the rules we live by with reverence tomorrow, signed with our
own blood. Fantasy is not in the land of archetypes but in the land
where archetypes are born.

We know this truth with our gut, in tears at the knowing of that rapture of possibility.
Our selves nurtured by the archetype, souls chained by it.
Which is why you must go beyond the labels, that bind us
to this mortality to the immortal coil beyond it, beyond our sight.

Fantasy fans the fires of the ecstatic mind, turning men into meanings, ideas and ideologies.

There are voices that have no spokesman. Let us speak for them out of respect, out of love.
Who will run in the rain and not from it? Who will let the rain love them instead
of loving the rain only from afar, as one feels entitled to things they do not owe their very lives?

The passionate know of relationships as real, some only read about in books.
Dragons beyond their cubbyholes, their alternating current reality- we,
enjoin and entrusted to take part at our leisure, yet never doing so.

We the passionate who do not see doors leading from place to place
but from here to eternity, in the limitless expanse of infinity, dreams out of body,
lucid and ephemeral, fantasy is not fantastic, but every day life if you
only open yourself to the adventure before you.

~*~

When you get a paper cut, it's not the ghosts of trees turning on you, it's your guilt for all humans have done to them... your penance... a lifetime of gratitude.

~*~

If a cat has nine lives does that mean they also have nine souls? Now, though I've never heard anybody else ask this question before, it doesn't make it true, but it does make it something worth thinking about.

~*~

Whenever somebody asks me for the 3 digit number on the back of my credit card, alarms go off... seriously, I understand some systems require that number to process an order, but new systems don't, they use your address for that, and honestly, nobody should be asking you for that number, because once they have that and your card #, they have access to all your money in that account. I think asking for somebody's three digit card number is like asking a woman how old she is... it's just wrong. So I am hereby making a stand against asking for the three digit card number, and I'm calling it... OCCUPY CREDIT CARD.

~*~

When I was a kid, I loved those Christmas chocolates that are all hiding behind little doorways in a Christmas collage, you remember those? I think it's because I was so used to finding absolute shit behind every door at home, that it was actually nice to go to school and find something nice could actually be hiding behind a door for once... no offense mom I know you did your best.

~*~

The soulless masses huddle around the TV screen in a heirarchy of ignorance and indifference, layered in egospasms that color and define their world... a hampster wheel of desire, of food, sex, and productivity... get off the ride, all these things do not lead to fulfillment, but the endless round called Samsara... once you let all these things go you flip the coin... nirvana.

(Up to 12/10/2012)

When I was a little kid, and my mom would drop us off at the Sunnyvale mall so she could work in the summertime, I would always save 25 cents to buy a Chocolate or Butterscotch lollypop at See's Candies at the end of the day... and I would eat it so slowly, like it was a precious edible jewel... I haven't had one since I was around 12 years old... I think I will buy some... I wonder what that will be like?

So I finally decided to watch The Guild, yes, that "The Guild"... and yes, I know I'm 5 years too late and Felicia Day has gone from who? to star on TV... but hey, in 2006 I was wandering around like a baby amoeba, and now I've put out an album, am working on music for a movie, and have a great job, just not on TV... so I guess we've all grown.... I even make my bed and fold clothes now... yes, I know, it's a friggin miracle.

I think it should be legal to kill people as long as you plant a tree right where their body falls... that way you stave off overpopulation and deforestation at the same time!

Website update: Added two of the comedy songs with lyrics, made all menus more intuitive, will be recording my song "Silly Song" I wrote on the fly while trying to make Laura Foust feel better over the phone, remember that? Finally will be recording it and putting it in the comedy section of the website... yay.

It seems like after Dave Chappelle vanished in a flash of marijuana smoke and industry sickness, comedy really went downhill, it can also be said that many of the great comedians died... leaving Louis CK as the last man standing. But thing

s are definitely picking up now, we've got Key and Peele, Chelsea Peretti, Workaholics, who else is out there people should know about? Besides me, of course where you can check out my debut album and tons of bonus songs on my website

I will be creating a comedy music playlist separate from the bonus playlist this weekend.

Today will be a music day, re-recording Boyfriends Suck, got a few technical ideas on the guitar part and changes, then go through the bonus songs to see if any will be going on the second album. Have a great Sunday all, and happy unholy days.

I think what happens is people try so hard to please others, believing that is the road to fulfillment, that when they fail to be fulfilled, they give up and express their anger and suffering outwardly, which simply compounds the problem, perpetually creating more anger, more suffering... I believe the solution is to stop hinging our happiness on the expectations we perceive in others, and be true to our own path, please ourselves, find peace with our paths and follow our inner passions... that way we find fulfillment within and express our joy and peace outwardly, then we no longer act from a need to please, but a compassion of others needs.

God made me a tree, somehow I became just the leaf. Shaky, on the limb, every gust of breeze whispering to me like ghosts through the night... The calm is too quiet, the crowd is too loud. The day is refracting and shattering light in the clouds. At night, there's a peace, when the nocturnal wanderers roam... and I go out too, and call it a home. From tree to leaf to ghost leaf be, until I reroot my soul, and bring me back to me.

Have you ever been hated by an entire group of people? Have you ever thought you were talking with a friend who turned out to be a Judas who betrayed your confidence? I'm not into horoscopes but man it told me yesterday morning not to trust new people with sensitive information, and it knew this would happen. I guess you gotta be real careful who you trust, be direct but don't subject yourself to anyone's definitions. People don't know your shoes, they rarely try to fit em, be honest with everybody, keep silent and roll on.

~*~

If you want to know what's really going on in the world... instead of turning on the news for a half hour every morning, sit and meditate for half hour every morning. Tune in to the source.

I am so sick and tired of the religious telling people they need to receive Jesus into their heart to be liberated from their problems. If you receive bunny rabbits and kittens into your heart it's just as good as receiving Jesus, just receive SOMETHING positive, that's all Jesus is about, holding something positive and inspirational in your heart that encourages you to work on your shit, so you can evolve as a spiritual being. That's it. Dogma in dogma out, get it? Religion is a selection of words plugged into a spiritual Mad Lib.

~*~

I want to talk about faith this morning... because it's a very intriguing animal. Some will say that you must have faith to find happiness... now they will prepare for you a table of exactly what they believe you should have faith in, usually it's tied in with religion, right? Faith in Jesus, God, angels... but perhaps then it really doesn't matter what you have faith in, as long as you have faith in something? I mean, if faith is simply putting your trust in things that one has no direct experience in, I can have faith in a kitten living in the moon smiling love down on me, right? Or the flying spaghetti monster, right Mike Seeba?

Which leads to the next point, is faith beneficial? Does faith help mankind reach its goals and potential? Think about it, if you have faith in anything, you will be more motivated, you'll feel what your doing has a bigger purpose, there will be some sort of pay off... does this mean faith is self-serving? Sure. But is faith always self-serving? Even when you do something completely selflessly, there is a selfish personal desire for redemption or enlightenment, you are in seeking mode, self-lack mode. Is faith then an illusion based on the idea that we lack in some way?

What would be a better solution for one than faith? Is reason better than faith? Is faith or reason the arbiter of wisdom? Faith relies on authority, tradition, dogma, enforced by praise and punishment. The other revolts against these impediments to the human will and intellect, seeking out innovation, solutions and harmony.

I have faith in reason, for reason is a tool I wield with personal responsibility and ingenuity to forge a path through this world... whereby faith alone one becomes a servant to unseen powers, other's wills, and beliefs. This is why Aleister Crowley once said, Love is the Law, Love under Will. Pope John Paul II once said in his Fides et Ratio, “Faith and reason are like two wings on which the human spirit rises to the contemplation of truth."

Isn't it funny how other countries ban Monsanto, they understand how bad they are for local farmers, the buying and control of enzymes, GMO in secrecy, Terminator seeds as a serious threat to agriculture, Round up and control of Round-up resistant seeds, treatment of cows and livestock and food supply...

While they ban Monsanto, America's president Barack Obama appoints them to run the FDA and oversee our food supply... Michelle Obama, she plays a good game about caring about America, but I don't see her having a conversation about this.

Others ban Monsanto for evil practice, America makes them overlords... I used to think my country was such a flawless place, that we were true humanitarians, stewards of the world... of course that's just what I was indoctrinated through media to believe.

The truth is America seeks to control all natural resources in the middle east, and makes sure the true humanitarians are disposed of, their named smeared forever.

I was born in America, I cannot call this country the greatest country in the world, not when we turn our backs on humanity, prioritize war and empirical control over the health and education of an entire people, forgo infrastructure, paint pretty lies over the ever-growing cracks of society...

Obama recently said no country should stand for others dropping bombs on them... this is after Obama spent the last year drone bombing 5 countries in the middle east, tallying up record civilian deaths. We are not hated for our freedom, we are hated for the freedoms we destroy every day around the world.

America created Al Qaeda. America is the only country two drop nuclear bombs on another country, not once but once.

America needs to stop talking the talk, and start walking the walk, for I have become ashamed of this land that started with such promise... but we must amend our ways, to those we have wronged... first we must approach the native americans, the african americans, the melting pot people we opened our borders to, we must redeem ourselves, but first we must get rid of the cancer that plagues us... educate and invigorate a righteous path of the informed, the inspired, and the lionized.

Shit, I should run this country.

I think the way he should have worked it... negative emotion makes your hair fall out and positive emotion makes your hair grow. Stuff like that... this just proves I should have gotten the role of God, that other guy is really slippin'. I would have invented Smart Hair. Mood hair color changes... imagine the possibilities!

Most of my wounds were self inflicted, but I was fortunate to meet remarkable people through whom my heart was lifted.

Did you know that in 1959, the top Federal Income Tax rate was 91% for regular income?

The rich paid tons of taxes and still got everything they could ever want... then they realized they could do offshore accounts, outsource everything, lower quality while raising costs, and get loopholes and tax cuts...

They stopped caring about America and started caring about themselves alone.

When you have billionaires in one country, and children starving in another... something is terribly wrong. And when in that same country of billionaires, there are more empty houses than homeless people... we have led ourselves so far astray, we risk the chance of truly losing an understanding of what it means to be human.

So last night I dreamed I went into space, it was all very 2001 A Space Odyssey'y...and when we got there, we circumnavigated the stars in little transporter jetpacks, but then we noticed that a transparency was appearing from deep in space, like cracks in armor, or stucco chips flaking off the black star speckled sky like wallpaper... another universe was breaking through our own, taking over... it was going to destroy our universe...

But then, we saw it grow until it covered everything, and it did not destroy our universe, it did not take over, it merely superimposed itself on ours like a sepina tint over our world...

We transported back down to earth where apparently World War 3 was in progress and every nation in the world had turned against the United States, but not in a nuclear war, a ground war, you see they decided we didn't deserve this land anymore, and they were going to take it back...

Man I hate these end of the world dreams, I need to figure out what the fuck is causing them and put a stop to it... maybe I'm eating too much sugar before bed...

If God intended us to read he'd have given us language. But he didn't, we invented it, perhaps, it too is a way to avoid deeper communication with life?

We become dependent upon language that we forget about the beacon of communication spoken by our bodies, our history, and our intentions...

I think a lot about non verbal communication and the beacon of my intentions, I believe it's the language insects and animals listen to from us... this is why I never kill any creature in my home, though I will lightly and kindly set them free into the world... a beacon of love is far better than one of death and control... but now I fear I am far afield of the eReader spirit abomination concept...

And I have not really thought about it... I don't believe anything can be an abomination to my spirit unless I let it, I believe much is subjective and we must abide by the tingles of our own hearts...

I don't find my fingers need tree corpse pages to imbibe the inner mural on the painted walls the author has set before me....

While I agree with Faust, I believe one can retain the spirit of the thing without the thing itself... you see, the spirit is within, it's the intention we bring that makes the bird to sing or breaks its mighty wing.

Lately I've been unplugging from every form of indoctrination that the corrupt create to keep me enslaved... TV, News, Consumerism, Fast Food, Marketing, Statism, etc.. at this point in my life, I think I'm mostly free from it all, the only connections I keep are the ones I choose, but even so, I'd like to get out of the box, even semi-permeable, it has many locks... I've been saving up money, and perhaps I'll someday just quit my job, with $50-$100,000 in the bank, and just... travel. Catch up on the things I've been setting aside, my books I want to read, the ones I want to write, get more involved in my music, particularly my second album... visit old friends, family... I think I could make a go of it, I've got a real wanderlust to roam... it beckons from the road like an angel... it feeds me nightmares when I stop listening, buried in the shit I've accumulated... but I am awake, and awakened I will go, through the dream and fields I go... back, and forth, swaying with the wind, breaking through listening within and moving forward in synchronous relation to life.

In a way they've recreated James Bond as a sort of Hero's Journey that borders on Sysyphys... he is constantly becoming, never to truly become what we want him to be... he'll have his moments, but he is cursed like all of us, to a life of imperfection, searching, full of questions....

Earlier incarnations of Bond were too flawless, too cocky... Sean Connery, and onward, a bit sexist, cocky, but so full of themselves...

Daniel Craig is the first to bring a sense of disenchantment to the role and I find that incredibly refreshing.

Something I learned this week, a little secret to upgrading your phone when you are not eligible for the discounts...

There IS a loophole to paying full price on a new phone and this might help you guys when it comes time to upgrade if you are not eligible for the discounted price and are facing the full price of $650, or whatever the price may be...

Here's what you do:

Add a second line to yo

ur account choosing the discounted new upgrade version phone which gives you the discounted price of instead of $650 or whatever full price.

Get that all set up, then when the new phone arrives, call your carrier, move your number to the new phone and cancel the second line.

Now, you will incur an early cancellation fee on that line of maximum $175, but it sure beats paying that $650 for the new phone.

In total, if you did the math, you paid $374 instead of $650 to upgrade out of eligibility.

Sounds complex, but it works.

In elementary school, day 1, first grade, I refused to say the Pledge of Allegiance, I don't think I could have told you why except that it felt wrong at the time, doing something everyone else was doing, putting my hand over my heart for what? It felt like signing over my very soul, I now appreciate these little, visceral impulses, like a spider sense when some minute personal injustice is being done, when the wool is being pulled, when the lie is being crafted...

I acted out a lot, I had no father, his memory was a painful one, I remember the day he finally moved out; I was 3, they finalized the divorce when I was 5. That house was a ghost story. It had rampant bees, a Dracula style seemingly endless rolling hill behind it, I got my first electric shock there, it woke me to my first substantive memories as well.

The street wasn't safe, the cars flew by like howling demons, horses up on the hill looked down from a better world, I watered a giant rock in the front yard creating my own civil society of native villagers, I became their God, and I was kind, feeding water down their rivers, cuts and grooves in the ancient rock.

I saw ghosts, I dreamed, but I was not afraid of the dark.

So I believe I have the solution for Poverty in America. The homeless issue, the jobs issue, and the food issue. And here it is.

You're welcome.

The first horror I ever truly loved is The Abnominable Dr. Phibes... I remember watching it on TV when I was a kid, must have been late '70s, early '80s... this was before I even knew who Vincent Price was... that's how you know when a famous celebrity deserves their fame... your impression is not colored by the celebrity... I felt the same about Denzel Washington in The Mighty Quinn, loved the guy in that, had no idea who he was. Great feeling... it's the sapling of honesty, that's the plant we should water every day.

You know all the ice in Greenland which has grown and receded for the last like ever has all but gone at a profoundly accelerated rate... I mean I know abortion and gay marriage is so important, Monsanto even moreso, but this might be the biggest issue of them all and I'm just wondering if anyone is brainstorming a solution here? Is Obama up for real change he promised in 2008? If so, it's time to take on that defense budget, give money back to infrastructure, rails, roads, schools, and the environment. It's time to replace Monsanto in the FDA, it's time to get money out of politics, stop bailing out Wallstreet and work for the American people who elected you, it's time to call off the war on medical marijuana, it's time Mr. President, time to do the heavy lifting you talked about, then put off for four years.

If the religious are right in saying the universe is only 9000 years old, maybe that guy was right who asked me, a 40 year old man if I was born yesterday.

Well, we know how long things take to happen: rocks to be moved by water across desert landscapes, how long it takes for volcanoes and mountains to form, glaciation, entropy, decay of bodies, fossil records, earth's crust, tectonic movement...

The documentary series "How the Earth was Made" is one of the best doc series I've ever seen, Season 2 Episode 3, The Birth of the Earth is a must see for discovering a truly viable way the planet might have formed, you know in reality, beyond the fantasy of children's books.
When all evidence points to the universe being billions of years old, it's going to take more than a human being telling me it's not to make me believe them... the argument that God put fossils here to test our faith, that's what you say to idiots to make them controllable.

I believe everyone can have their own opinions, but not their own facts.

It should also be known that unlike religious theory which has no evidence and is purely fantasy, err I mean faith based, another word for believing in what you're told because actually looking for the truth is too scary, scientific theory is not about wild guesses but that which all evidence points towards.

When people tell me that religion helps people, oh I don't doubt that, they're called comfort lies for a reason. When you are dealing with great stress and life issues, a little comfort can go a long way, but you're not supposed to live there, you're supposed to be comforted, then keep moving, keep striving, keep searching... life is not about knowing, it's about not knowing. Certainty is the death of all knowledge.

The sun beams down on us, 90% of its heat is reflected back into space... humans are causing the ice to melt at an accelerated rate, and thus, the sun beams down on the dark water instead, and darkness absorbs the heat, and thus, the planet warms at an accelerated rate... the climate is hyper charged, the climate is on steroids, because of what we've done to the atmosphere... maybe we should design some kind of reflective material to cover immense areas of the earth to reflect the sun back to space to solve this problem since we clearly cannot bring the ice back... I wonder if anyone is working on this?

Every year on Halloween I find some little way to make it memorable. It started with creating the tradition of baking my late grandmother's famous Divinity cookies every Halloween, then telling kids my cat Jupiter was my pet bear dressed up as a cat for Halloween, upping the ante on decorations every year, last year I started giving out ring pops to the parents, they were always pleasantly surprised, and there's really almost nothing better than seeing the joy in someone's eyes who were a moment ago quite apathetic. Running out to cars and parents on the sidewalk to give them their ring pops was really fun.

This year, a zombie on the grass, hanging talking skeleton holding his severed head, and a black cat that hisses as you walk by, and anyone who could Gangnam Style dance got a ring pop too.

On the Halloween play list was the soundtrack to the new horror movie Sinister, which is actually just one 24 minute EP by Ullver called Teachings in Silence. Purple People Eater, and tons of other Horror film themes and fun music... even found some Halloween harps called Lucifer's Harps, my sister wanted harps, we found some. All in all, another awesome Halloween.

Watching the horror film "THE BAY" today, 30 minutes in and I'm thinking, this feels like a real documentary, but in a good way, because I've said that before about a horror movie and not in a good way, (Poughkeepsie Tapes), but this movie is able to convey a sense of environmental awareness in a way that isn't corny (Cabin Fever), because believe it or not, there are real concerns people don't pay much attention to when it comes to how they live, what they buy to clean their clothes, to feed themselves and their children, they don't understand the chemicals they use, the chemicals used in plastics, how heat leeches those chemicals into what they drink and eat, the packaging, the effects of those chemicals we now know to stunt the growth of fetal brain tissue, effectively dumbing down generations of people, yes, the chemical I speak of is found in 99% of all pregnant women, because they don't start using BPA free materials until they get pregnant or until after they have the baby, and the chemical has already done its damage... we're talking about real dangers that effect human genetics, and development.

Hopefully this movie will be taken a bit seriously, and people will consider how they spend their money, what they put in and on our bodies.

I've been saying this for years, and every day more and more people are taking their power back in the way they spend their hard earned money, because everyone wants to be healthy and happy, but to be so, you must choose to be informed, don't take my word for it, research for yourself, the facts are all out there.

Good luck, and kind regards.

I really don't care who becomes President in my American homeland. Why? Because all that a presidential bid decides is what manner in which the American people will be screwed, not whether they get screwed or not... think of it like the horror movie Cabin in the Woods... we're all in a basement and every presidential candidate is simply a different avenue towards our demise.

You choose Obama and you get drone strikes, Monsanto, a healthy Wallstreet and deceived Mainstreet, a war on medical marijuana, endless war, no relief wells on drilling, no accountability for Big business, oil subsidies, yadda yadda yadda...

You choose Mitt Romney and you get drone strikes, Monsanto, a healthy Wallstreet and deceived Mainstreet, a war on medical marijuana, endless war, no relief wells on drilling, no accountability for Big business, oil subsidies, yadda yadda yadda...
add to that no healthcare, no education, no environment, no FEMA, no middle class...

However you choose, you gonna die. It ain't gonna end well.

The only way this ends well is if we leave the basement, we escape the virtual political reality, we take care of each other ourselves, because face it, they're not going to do it for us.

Relationships take willingness, to care about the things we don't have first person interest in, to put ourselves aside, with compassion, with interest, with care, to get to know another person, or any living thing, ourselves...

We all notice right away when we connect with someone and when we don't. We can pursue substantive moments at every turn, but willingness, a desire has to derive from both sides of the road, or there's no road to travel...

We are all connected, we are all unified, but to awaken the spark that makes that connection real, does require effort.

When that effort is not there, when that desire does not exist, when that spark is not met with enthusiasm, interest, desire... I will not waste my time, time is precious, even as an illusion it seals our fate. And time is so short, too short to squander on those who cannot see our gifts. Save it for those who do.

Let's consider Christianity for a moment... during the Dark Ages 300 to 700 AD the entirety of Europe was like a giant mosh pit of massacre and power struggle murder sprees... the fall of Rome, the rise and fall of the Byzantine Empire, Islam, Frankish empire, feudalism, the Vikings, Bulgarian empire, and many others... eventually culminating in the coronation of Charlemagne in 800 AD... this was a desperate attempt to bring all of Europe under one umbrella in an effort to end the killing and endless war, well politically, but actually the king was simply manipulated into thinking this was a good idea, and well, did it work? What happened next, you ask? Well, it led to the Crusades and the Inquisition which resulted in more deaths than the entirety of all the killing during the Dark Ages previously passed, only outdone by The Black Plague which killed 75 million people. Yes, this was a rather ironic situation, you see we learned that killing doesn't fix killing, so what did nature do? Killed everyone. Does this mean the world is heading towards another extinction level event? I dunno, but I'd say just to be on the safe side, stay away from rats who run with a purpose.

Morning Thoughts

In the secular world there is as much a glass ceiling and suppression of women's rights as is found in the world of most religions.

Secular and Religious are the same the same way that Democrats and Republicans are the same...

From the surrounding media to the scriptures, our lives are carefully seeded and controlled by sacred tenets of suppression.

The secular and scientific, the religious and the duty bound applaud themselves for evading the sheep trap of doctrine and task, truth doled out to them by the media and dear leaders as if their eyes, their minds, their hearts needed herding.

What then is freedom? To be free we must not be free to be a slave, we must be free from every yolk. We are all indoctrinated into something... we go from one frying pan to the next, saying, "Ah! Now I am free", but it is not the world that chains us, but convinces us to chain ourselves. It promises protection, it tells us things only a child can understand... oh wait, I'm quoting the movie Poltergeist now... where was I? Oh, right, freedom.

And is there such thing as free will? If we choose a path out of fear, to escape the Hells man creates for us in their special books, and create Gods to be their authors, and we believe them, what circle of Hell is this? What chance for freedom is there in the craft paper paradigm?

Mustn't we move beyond those worlds? After all, is any world not but a reflection of mind? And a free mind is not attached to worlds, but is free to explore them all, like a tiny space man floating in emptiness, unattached, free to see all threads connected... like a river flows endlessly to the sea, and we are but drops of water, we build our tiny boats out of memory, belief oars our way in circles and sometimes onward, will you help another build a boat or bash them with your mighty rudder? Perhaps therein lies our choice, to help ourselves or help another.

The Evolution of Horror

One could write entire books on how horror has evolved over the last 100 years, it's socially relevant ambitions, cyclical monsters that represent economic and social anxieties.

Take for example, Godzilla, a creature created in Japan to represent the deeply rooted perspective shift after the bombing of Hiroshima, Nagasaki, and the horrors of world war 2, now look at Cloverfield, a similar monster that was created to represent the shift in consciousness in America after 9/11.

Throughout film and even story, fable, and oral tradition before the written word, there have been archetypes to represent the darker natures of man, the monster under the bed, the subconscious, the waltz over the dark water... Horror changes but it always stays the same, in its core it shines a light into the darkness of the human mind, investigates the cobwebbed and forgotten corners of consciousness.

The horror of the '70s was a very story based character driven world of cinema, in the '80s, we became more physical, more visceral, showing the true of the nightmare rather than talking about it. Today, horror is shifting yet again, from the visceral to the visual to the hyper surreal, and perhaps back around to the storybook form eventually in its cyclical nature. I believe the found footage genre is representative of the bridge between the two, and in the next five to ten years we will see a return to character driven horror and thoughtful writing.

Or not... Who can say? What happens in the world, effects consciousness, so we cannot say with certainly where it will lead, but what we can say with certainty is that eventually, everything comes full circle.

Review: Magic City

I watched the first three episodes of "Magic City" and it has potential but I wasn't too impressed.

Much ado about nothing, little happens, or care deeply about, formulaic and forced, no characters I feel any connection to or care about... yet. The reflective music playing every time Ike (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) shows up, is reminiscent of an episode of Get Smart, the stereotypical characters are a bit too James Bond and James Bond villain.

It's a couple steps up from Pan Am, but quite a few steps down from Boardwalk Empire and Mad Men.

I won't make any judgment until after I've seen 3 episodes, but the real problem with the show is the dialog. It's trite and cliched, and trying too hard to be clever. It doesn't have the spark that makes a great series, you can't fake that, and it tries so hard to copy it from other better shows, namely The Sopranos and Mad Men, but it has no vision, no unique take on history, and it brings nothing new to the table... I found myself getting bored during the second episode.

Episode 3 is just dull, and they end every episode with something shocking to try to trick you into thinking it was so edgy and stirring, but I just shake my head, the show is empty and needs to really get going or the audience will.

This is not a false alarm, this is not a test.

Monsanto could cause the end of all life on this planet. Obama appointed the heads of Monsanto to the FDA. And we care about which Presidential candidate is going to be bad for marriage and equality? Those are great issues, but the life of the planet is at stake, and no one is talking about it. Cancer is up, pesticides and tolerance to those chemicals by plants, breathing in these chemicals, diabetes, obesity, Monsanto makes Round Up and the crops that are Round Up resistant, they're making money on the seeds and the chemicals, terminator seeds kill off seeds after a season, they're strong arming local farmers, Monsanto has to be stopped, before it's too late.

A person is standing in one inch of water in a stream, holding on tightly to a stick in the ground with their eyes tightly closed, and they're afraid the water is going to rise and drown them, or that a waterfall is just around the corner, and you're telling them, "Hey there!,  you're holding onto a stick and the water is an inch high, open your eyes, you're fine."  And they won't believe you, they won't open their eyes, let go of the stick... they don't believe you.

When I experience this in conversation, I find the only way to help them is to get down in that world with them, validate the experience of the water, or whatever that experience is, and then find your way out together, it's like jumping in the hole with them because you know the way out. If you just say it isn't real, well, it's real to them, so you have to approach it as real WITH them, then you can talk with them from that perspective and if they feel validated and respected they'll more likely listen to you, and eventually let it go, find their own way out, look around with new eyes.

Appointing the VP of Monsanto to the head of the FDA is like appointing Hitler to the head of the JCC, it's insanity and somehow no one seems to mind, no one seems to talk about it, and the Republicans don't use it as ammunition against the President in the election, why? Because it's A-OK to everybody

When you understand that you deserve the same compassion that you give to others, you become a wellspring of nourishment, like a pitcher pours into the top glass in a pyramid of glasses represents the soul that overflows and nourishes the mind and flows down to nourish the heart and flows down to nourish the body, and it's simply a matter of listening. Listening to the body, listening to the heart, listening to the mind, and having faith in the soul by letting go of attachment to all phenomena. Be a wellspring and you will nourish the world.

VP DEBATE

So... Paul Ryan and Eric Cantor say that everything is on the table for cuts, including the defense budget... that's news to Romney though because his plan raises the defense budget. What it comes down to is no one is telling the truth.

It's also mind numbing when Paul Ryan thinks he's schooling Joe Biden when he says the problem with the Obama administration is in not trying to be bipartisan, when anyone paying attention knows the first 2 years of Obama's presidency was spent in bipartisan proposals that the Republicans denied simply on the grounds that they came from Obama, even when they were their own proposals in the first place, so Paul Ryan is just as clearly a liar as Mitt Romney.

Why is it at the debate when Biden said the only ways to cut 5 trillion dollars was to cut the middle class, and Ryan said no you can do it without hurting the middle class, instead of being an idiot and saying "Oh you're Jack Kennedy now?" which was Joe Biden losing the thread of the debate, why didn't he just say, okay, if I'm wrong tell us right now specifically how you cut 5 trillion without effecting the middle class. Why didn't he ask him to put up or shut up?

Thankfully a doctrine I do not subscribe to, I am definitely not the usual person though... I have often said that we do not have to be pushed towards
new technology, like a rushing river pushing fish over a dam.  I love records and have gone back to record players over CDs, new does not mean better.

Look at our food, companies cut corners for the bottom line by replacing real ingredients with junk, honey for high fructose, etc..

Ya, people need to stop and think, not feel they have to keep up with trends like sheep, your self worth and confidence and contribution come from within
not without.

I would also like to add, the main reason people feel compelled by progress is convenience, and some convenience is good,

but when you create too much convenience there is a tendency to forget the beauty in the process, the art in the process,
and create a new process that is not healthy...

A great example I came up with a few years ago is shaving.

There was a time of course people did not shave and considered the beard an important spiritual component to our being.

Then people shaved to class it up a bit, saying spirit is not appearances, and they had an artful process of
soapbowls, bristle brushed, straight razors...

Then people turned to convenient but unhealthy plastic shavers by companies who do animal testing and use contents under pressure
in non easily biodegradable packaging, our process became convenient, but irresponsible...

Now I chose to return to the middle way, a simple, artful process.  And that is how I approach life in general.

Tonight I downloaded the movie "Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World"

Great title, the flow and rhyme scheme makes it really enticing... but hey it's 2012
and I knew like everyone else who thought about it, that 2012 would be a year saturated with End of the World-themed movies, because of the whole ignorant interpretation of Mayan calendars thing.

Now yes extinction level events have occurred in history, not once but a few times, we can see the evidence in the fossil record, but shifts take thousands, sometimes millions of years to occur, also the whole fear behind the 2012 thing is ungrounded, as it's known by scientists a few crucial facts...

1. Earth and other planets in our solar system have been far better aligned in the past without incident.

2. The Black Hole in question is much too far away for it's gravitation to have the effect feared by conspiracy theorists.

3. If a planet were hurling itself through space towards us to reach us by December 21st, 2012, we'd have seen evidence of effects on our outer planets YEARS ago, and if we are still not detecting those vibrations, then the Planet X, or Nibiru as it's called would have to be so small as to be pulled into the sun and burned up without incident
anyway, or even the gravitation of Jupiter, and actually, not long ago a "something" did get pulled into Jupiter, there's video of it, and it's very cool, or was it Saturn? I forget.

Anyway, we're all pretty much safe from that, and honestly anything can happen so why worry?

I think the problem with today's children who are simply  submerged in constant stimulus, is that while the quantity of information they are taking is has grown,

the quality of that information has waned and their ability to digest their own experience and glean something  real from it has also waned.

One needs quiet moments without technology, without connection to others, to meditate, to reflect, to listen and to grow.

It's as if a seed is planted in the mind, but it's drowning in over watering so nothing can grow.

Have you ever noticed people who claim to have seen a ghost only see one at a time? That's because they haven't seen a ghost, they've seen the externalization of their own subconscious fears, the disassociation from themselves through body and sense confusion... now show me a person who saw two ghosts at the same time, or three, or four... then you might have something... more people have died in history than are living on the earth today... if ghosts exist, then we are like fish swimming in a sea of spirits, space is ghosts, and everything is One in a unified consciousness, a singularity... the black of space is the curtain of ignorance kept over our eyes until we are ready to know the truth... the stars are glimpses of God peeking through, but there is no separation, once the curtain is pulled away, it is not a matter of you and God, you and anything else, but simply... the Youniverse.

Song of Friendship
(just got inspired to write this new song, first rough draft)

A sudden feeling came over me, the kind that finds you there. Walking through my hungry heart, sleeping and aware. I wanted to create for you a simple melody, just something to let you know I love you, and to remind me.

That every day brings another chance to say it. And every hour offers endless opportunity. And each time I put it off for something else to do, I fall further into old returns that offer nothing new.

But every day brings another chance to say it. And every moment whispers soft and near. And each time I put it off for something else to do, I fall further inside of me and further away from you.

I kinda wish I lived in the future where we all lived in space on our own little asteroids, and could swim through space or jet pack through space and take our pets on little space walks, and our cats would chase space squids, and the mailman would stop by a little floating mailbox, and instead of looking up to the stars at night, we'd just look around...

God created the Heavens and the Earth in 6 days, and on the 7th He created you to annoy me.

There was a time it didn't matter what I Google'd for, I always returned at least one nude woman in my results, nowadays I always return at least one cat photo... I wonder what this means?

The movie CLOUD ATLAS looks very similar to THE FOUNTAIN, which means I'll probably love it.

I don't understand it, why do fish get all the utilitarian abilities? ...and they never use them! Sword fish, Hammerheads, are sharks just secret thespians? One shark builds a stage and the other performs The Three Musketeers? Pygmy sharks could be ushers cos their bellies glow.

I love Halloween, I love all the little kids being so adorable and saying the funniest things, the magic in the air, the cats on the lawn running around for attention, it reminds me of when I was really young and trick 'r treating, bringing candy back home, sometimes trading candy, or stacking candies together to see what we got...
I always spend way too much money on Halloween, but I never regret it.

Do you have any plans for Halloween? I know Shoshana likely does not celebrate it at all perhaps, not sure if anyone in the family does, though Val celebrates it with me, you see I decided years ago that would be OUR holiday.

Understanding Spirits

One thing that kind of confuses me that everyone just accepts in ghost movies is that old addage, through curiosity, through trying to communicate you are opening the door and letting them in... now this is the problem I have with this logic. If you are feeling the presence, and it's communicating already, it's already there, so what door are they referring to? Do they mean like a spiritual door

way of the self? The mind? Your personal space? Or this world? Because we all know what you resist persists, and telling you to not open the door is like telling someone not to think of an elephant.

I just think this logic is very flawed and irrational, likely fear based, I believe what happens is this.

We are born. We become disassociated from our core. Things we fear take on external manifestations, and we become attached to those forms. We then think we are afraid of things outside of ourselves, things like spiders, the dark, ghosts, the unknown is all it is though and our misidentification of aspects of ourselves we are not in tune with...

I believe when we reach out to the things we fear, we find they were not only not ghosts, not anything to worry about, but actually aspects of ourselves, and we become more full beings, enriched and empowered, and through that reintegration of our conscious and unconscious aspects, amazing things become possible... I could go into what I believe those things are sometime if anyone is interested.

Who should I vote for President in 2012?

Let’s see…

Obama appointed the heads of Monsanto to the FDA.
Obama declared war on medical marijuana.
Obama signed NDA which allows the government to hold American citizens without a hearing forever, to kill any American without answering for it.
Obama drone bombed 5 countries in the middle east, tallying up a death toll in the tens of thousands.
Obama has done nothing about poverty, the bank corruption, Super Pacs, and gave BP a slap on the wrist, and whatever happened to Goldmann, oh right he appointed all those lobbyists he promised not to.
Obama campaigned as the man of change in 2008, in 2012 stated he is not the man of change.
Obama killed a fly on national TV.
I could go on and on about Obama…

Romney destroyed American jobs .
Romney balanced his budget by raising the costs on the elderly and disabled.
Romney put his dog on the roof of his car and drove across the country.
Romney has never once told the truth to the American people.
Romney is a sociopath.
Romney has ofshore accounts.
Romney has more money in his offshore accounts than is legal.
I could go on and on about Romney.

When I was too in love to let it go, I thought of all the things I thought that you should know...
But you're the one who taught them to me, and today you look right through me...

A little love goes a long way, like remembering light in a pitch black day.
A little hand squeeze and you're okay, like remembering everything that got in the way.

And it all slips away, until the only thing that remains is the memory of the good times like a clear flowing stream through the mind.

~*~

I believe as a human being I create an environment for myself, with elements of Feng Shui, simplicity, getting rid of clutter, creating a space I am comfortable in, with space to think, meditate and create, and sometimes to work...

I have

two cats, Jupiter and Neptune, and I try to create that environment for them as well, so they can feel safe, comfortable and at ease in their environment...

To help empower a space I sometimes use, fountains, or crystals, or just keeping the space aired out, uncluttered, organized and freeflowing... For my pets I utilized power objects.

For Jupiter, I bought a beautiful 1850 Chinese calligraphy tapestry of a tiger that actually looks a lot like him and hung it in my bedroom, but for Neptune, maybe I'll get this lighter, it's a St Dupont handcrafted Neptune lighter.

Do you believe in power objects to empower a space for those you are trying to nurture?

Watching the 2006 horror flick Stay Alive, I've seen it a bunch of times but there's something about it I really like.

Being in a video game, creepy video games in general, the atmosphere, the story, a pretty creepy movie

with some solid effects.

I'm not saying the movie is perfect, the story is pretty thin and full of holes, for example, why do the cops think the main character did it when he has witnesses that can vouch for him as not being there to have done the murders? The guy has an airtight alibi, but the effects, pacing, music, creepiness and chemistry really works, maybe one has to be a gamer to really get this movie, but I believe this movie is far more deserving than a 4.9 rating.

Even the music is great, it's like a cross between Final Destination and The Ring... sharp, staccato, haunting, reflective, with child-like carousel tones dancing over the top, it's really nice.

The only real bad thing about this movie is most of the characters are unbelievable, and the actor direction was abysmal.

I know when I first saw this movie with some friends we ALL wished this game existed, looked on IMDb and saw we weren't alone.
I mean there are some great horror games out now, but none like this with a horror blend of MMO aspects: Penumbra and Amnesia come to mind
as single player games.

World of Warcraft early on had some creepy elements; think Plaguelands, Scholomance, but still, it was pretty tame stuff compared to this.

It also might seem a little silly to make Elizabeth Bathory the main antagonist, being that she died in Hungary and not New Orleans where this takes place,
they could have used someone more local, someone like Delphine LaLaurie, but I figure more people would know the name Bathory, so they went with what's most accessible to the audiences.

Anyway, fun little flick.

Ah, I love the midcentury modern look. In design, in chairs, in how people dressed, in attention to detail, in the artwork, in the brush strokes. To me, it's like putting the thought that brought me into being under a microscope, like I can see the sperm that raced towards the egg that tiny big bang that became me, and for this and so much more, I am grateful, I am in awe, I am overwhelmed, but even moreso than these feelings, I am hopeful.
