Just The One Of Us

Just The One Of Us

Sometimes we look forward, sometimes we look back,
but it's all a beautiful learning experience
Nothing too sad, and nothing to lack
We walk into this great hall, some with those who brought us,
some with only a memory
Some of us just meant for another uncertain family
But still somehow out there along the horizon
The light shone ever as bright before you as it did before
And smells of yesterday as fragrant on either side of the door
And we looked directly into that sun
with the trees framing the scene
Just the One of us, our love, hands entwined
like waves over the ocean.
